Matthias Füchsle, drums

Matthias studied “Jazz & Popular Music” at the Jazzschule Zürich – he received a diploma in 2001. Master classes and lessons with Jack Dejohnette, Billy Cobham, Julio Barreto and Dennis Chambers. Further study with Walter Kaiser and Claus Hessler.

His club and festival concert tours take him throughout Europe, and even as far as Asia. His musical versatility and grooves can be heard on numerous CDs.

He is a regular member of the following bands:

• CAS-Jazz,
• Andy Herrmann Group,
• Matthias Anton Group,
• Claudio Bergamin Quartett,
• Jazzchor Freiburg feat. Torun Eriksen

and is engaged by various ensembles as a freelance drummer.

In October, 2006, he received the “Kunstpreis” with his band DietkrØns. The CD “En Route” was issued by his own label Foxtones.

Matthias is an official endorser for the firm AGNER Swiss Drumsticks (with his own signature stick model), and also for the cymbal and Percussion Firma MEINL.
