Bernd Heitzler, Electric Bass, Upright Bass

…is musician, bassist, composer, band leader as well as a passionate and recommended teacher for bass and band coaching. Furthermore, he is a Manager. Simply put, he is a very busy professional musician. He has a wide range of musical experience that shows in his playing, and brings experience this into the class room.
Bernd started playing the electric bass at 12 years with rock and pop music. Through rock and pop music he found fusion, latin, R`n`B, soul, and jazz. Through learning the upright bass, Bernd also developed his classical chops. As for today, he enjoys spending his time playing jazz oriented music. He always enjoys taking a look back to his pop/soul roots, and he is confident in every style on the stage and in the studio.

Bernd has 20 years of teaching experience and has developed his own teaching concept that is applicable to an umbrella of different styles. He has taught bassists from all different musical styles and helped them with successful the transition from amateur level into the professional realm.

I don’t show you how to play the bass, but instead show you how you can show yourself how to play- you need to do the practicing yourself.

For those who would like to see Bernd perform live on stage or even meet him, you are gladly invited to visit his homepage at www.berndheitzler.de and the homepage of the Cécile Verny Quartets (where he is the co-leader and Manger) at www.cvq.de
